How to Access CDRC Resources on EMIS:

CDRC provides EMIS resources to support clinical care, population health management, reporting, and referral processes. This page explains how to access the different types of CDRC EMIS resources, including:

  • Population Reporting Searches, available to download and import as .zip files.
  • Clinical Templates, Referral Forms and Protocols, available through EMIS Resource Publisher.

Accessing CDRC Population Reporting Searches

CDRC has developed a suite of EMIS Population Reporting Searches to help practices identify and manage specific patient cohorts.

Because the full suite of searches is large, CDRC has divided the searches into smaller, manageable folders. This allows practices to download and import only the searches they need, rather than importing the full suite at once.

You can view the available EMIS resources from the main EMIS Resource Centre page.

How to import Population Reporting Searches

CDRC Population Reporting Searches are provided as downloadable .zip files. These files can be imported into EMIS Population Reporting.

If you have not imported a search folder into EMIS before, please follow the import guide below.

Keeping searches up to date

You can check whether you have the latest version of a Population Reporting Search by reviewing the date included on the .zip file.

Updates to CDRC Population Reporting Searches will be communicated to CDRC users via the CDRC mailing list: http://eepurl.com/9131L 

Accessing CDRC Clinical Templates, Referral Forms and Protocols

Overview

CDRC Clinical Templates, Referral Forms and Protocols are accessed through EMIS Resource Publisher.

To access these resources, your organisation must have the relevant Resource Publisher sharing agreement in place.

Practices in the following areas may already have the required sharing agreement available:

  • County Durham
  • Gateshead
  • Newcastle
  • North Tyneside
  • Northumberland
  • South Tyneside
  • Sunderland
  • Tees Valley

If your organisation is in one of these areas, you may only need to activate the agreement within EMIS Resource Publisher.

Practices based in North Cumbria are covered by a separate sharing agreement with PRIMIS, called Cumbria Enterprise Resource. For further information, please contact: primis@ncic.nhs.uk.

If your practice is not located in one of the areas listed above, please email CDRC with your organisation name and EMIS Organisation ID: contact-cdrc@healthinnovationnenc.org.uk

Please include that you would like access to CDRC Clinical Templates, Referral Forms and Protocols on EMIS.

Activating the CDRC Resource Publisher agreement

How to activate the agreement

To activate the CDRC Resource Publisher sharing agreement:

  1. Click the EMIS Ball.
  2. Go to Configuration.
  3. Select Data Sharing Manager.
  4. Open the My Agreements tab.
  5. Click Resource Publisher in the lower left-hand corner.
  6. Look for CBC Health Ltd.
  7. Click Activate Agreement.
  8. A green tick should appear once the agreement has been activated.

Once activated, your organisation will be able to access CDRC Clinical Templates, Referral Forms and Protocols through EMIS Resource Publisher.

Important note

In some areas, the sharing agreement may appear under your local CCG or locality organisation rather than directly under CBC Health Ltd. For example, CBC Health Ltd may be listed within a local NHS CCG organisation folder. If you cannot immediately see CBC Health Ltd, please check your local organisational resource folders.

Will activating the agreement share my organisation’s data?

No, activating the agreement does not share your organisation’s data

Activating the CBC Health Ltd Resource Publisher agreement allows your organisation to access CDRC resources in EMIS.

It does not give CBC Health Ltd, CDRC, or any other organisation access to your organisation’s patient data, practice data, or any other organisational information.

The agreement enables the sharing of resources to your organisation, not the sharing of your data out of your organisation.

Can I choose which resources are active?

Yes, CDRC resources are optional

All CDRC resources available through the CBC Health Ltd group are optional. Your organisation can choose which resources to use.

By default, protocols are not activated when the CBC Health Ltd sharing agreement is accepted. If your organisation would like to use the protocols, these can be activated separately.

How to activate or deactivate protocols

To manage CDRC protocols:

  1. Go to Resource Publisher.
  2. Select Protocols & Templates.
  3. Expand the Shared folders.
  4. Locate the relevant CBC Health Protocols.
  5. Right-click the protocol you want to manage.
  6. Select Status.
  7. Choose Activate or Deactivate, as required.

Some protocols may add alerts to the alert panel or trigger pop-ups within templates. Practices should consider which protocols are appropriate for their local workflows before activating them.
