The CDRC Safeguarding system is an integrated approach to give organisations a structured, safe and simple method of considering safeguarding issues.
The approach is based on organisations maintaining four ‘registers’ of patients with safeguarding issues, please click on the Headers to be directed to the corresponding CDRC Guide:
- Safeguarding Children
- Children on the local authority child protection list
- Children recognised by the local authority as ‘in need’
- Looked after children
- Any other children who are ’cause for concern’
- Safeguarding Adults
- Adults with a significant safeguarding issue (e.g., victims of domestic abuse, at risk of exploitation)
- At Risk of Harming Others
- Those who pose a significant risk to others (e.g. sex offenders, violent patients, perpetrators of domestic abuse).
- Family / Household Cause for concern
- Patients where vulnerable adults or children in the household should be considered (e.g. parents with significant drug misuse issues).
- For each ‘register’ there is a single patient status alert (icon) that identifies the patient. Clicking this icon opens the relevant template.
- A unified safeguarding ‘call/recall’ system is available to give organisations a robust system to identify and review patients with safeguarding issues at appropriate intervals.
