What is CDRC Precision?

Who we are:

The Clinical Digital Resource Collaborative (CDRC), founded in 2018, is a collaboration between the AHSN NENC, NECS and CBC Health with key strategic relationships with GP Federations and CCGs. CDRC supports primary care through the provision of resources /products for use in the primary care clinical systems, EMIS and SystmOne.

CDRC aims to provide support to Health Care Professionals (HCPs) who work in general practice (GPs), primary and community care who use SystmOne and EMIS clinical IT systems to improve individual patient health and population health.

In addition, we provide NHS primary, secondary, community and mental health trusts who use SystmOne and EMIS clinical IT systems who want to encourage a culture of collaboration, sharing and less silo working.

All CDRC resources /products are assessed and quality assured by NECS for safety and accuracy.

We believe that by creating a reliable and trusted route to publish resources for GPs and clinical IT systems we can:

– Avoid variation in code translation to SNOMED CT between organisations and software systems across the region
– Decrease variation in layout of software settings for each system
– Improve orientation and recognition of contents for clinicians at each organisation
– Quality assure or ‘kite-mark’ all data-entry templates
– Align them with existing best practice
– Update them in real time when required
– Build more ‘intelligent’ functionality into them
– Ensure coding is consistent across the region.

A key part of CDRC Precision and working at a System level involves sharing information and link resource optimisation to deliver the best possible care for patients and making efficiencies across the region which reflects one of the key messages highlighted throughout the Primary Care Digital Care Strategy.

CDRC Precision provides primary care teams with access to safety assessed, quality assured digital tools and resources from a trusted source which integrate into their organisation’s clinical software and reflect agreed and accepted clinical pathways and best practice.

We have the capability to search our own data without restrictive limitations by ‘how much money we have’, allowing us to ensure equality of care for patients based on need rather than financial.

What can CDRC Precision confidently deliver?

– Improved quality and safety for patients, clinicians and the NHS at no additional cost.
– Improved time and cost savings through efficient patient care and by utilising pre-designed, validated resources.
– Improved performance management by proactively managing Quality and Outcomes Framework targets.
– Increased income by maximising Quality and Outcomes Framework.
– Safe and compliant data sharing.
– Flexible implementation allowing clinicians to decide what’s important to them and their practice.

Who benefits from using CDRC Precision digital resources?

Healthcare Professionals (HCP) managing any individual patient, for example:

– GPs or clinicians who work in teams such as those who are part of a practice team.
– GP Locums who find it challenging to maintain standards of practice and regional guidelines on multiple systems will find CDRC Precision easy to use.
– Practice nurses, counsellors, dispensers or other practice staff who are accessing patient data.

HCP working within a team in ‘lead’ mode like Practice Manager or GP Partner:

– Those responsible for looking after a condition or cohort of patients, such as cardiovascular or palliative care.
– Administrative team – non-clinical staff carrying out searches or Long Term Conditions administrative work will save time with pre-designed searches. Plus, multiple staff can be trained to use and access the digital resources
– Community and Mental Health team – district nurses, health visitors and community psychiatric nurses who are accessing patient data and managing patient care.

Larger organisations

Larger organisations such as CCGs, Primary Care Networks, and GP Federations for whom CDRC Precision digital resources allow for population-based interventions.
