Accessing CDRC resources on SystmOne
To access the below resources you will need to be a member of the DCS group on SystmOne. To do this, please follow the instructions on the CDRC SystmOne Access webpage.
The CDRC template for UTI is based on the SIGN guidance for UTI, Clinical Knowledge Summaries and the North East antibiotic formulary.
The key aims of the template are:
- To allow accurate recording of the appropriate information for audit and medicolegal purposes
- To provide decision support
- To display relevant information from the patient’s record
- To support appropriate antimicrobial use
The different pages of the template cover different scenarios. Only the appropriate pages will be displayed for men and women.
How to Access
With the Patient record retrieved, in the lower left hand corner there is a search bar, type in ‘Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) – CDRC’ and select the following template:
Alternatively, press F12 and type in ‘Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) – CDRC’ in the search bar, this will return the aforementioned template.
UTI Template
Non-Pregnant Women
The top half of the template helps the clinician to confirm the diagnosis and differentiate upper and lower UTIs. Guidance on prescribing and prescribing safety is provided. The most recent eGFR result is displayed along with a note to indicate if the patient has a nitrofurantoin adverse drug reaction.
The bottom half of the template allows the clinician to record more narrative information as well as link to tools to screen for sepsis and to display Previous MSU Results and Antibiotics
Pregnant Women
The top left of the page covers symptomatic suspected UTI and the top right asymptomatic bacteriuria.
The bottom half of the page allows the clinician to record more narrative information as well as link to tools to screen for sepsis and to display Previous MSU Results and Antibiotics.
Men
The top left of the page covers suspected lower UTI and the top right more complex UTIs
